Our registration process is very easy. You can either pop in and see us in term time periods or on Saturdays after 11am and pick one up, or you can download a form below, print and sign it and return it to the playground with your child. It's nice to bring your child/ren so that they can see the Adventure playground, meet the staff and other children and our goat, Coco! Please note we are a play space for school aged children and not early years.Your 5 year old must be aged 5 from 1st September following their fifth birthday.
We do not accept registration in holiday periods as the playground can get very busy and forms tend to get lost in the excitement of things. It's important to remember so you're child is not disappointed if you arrive form in had, child on arm in the midst of a holiday programme. Sad eyes and whimpering won't do it! And that's just Dad! *Grin*
Please print, sign and pop it in to us. It's as simple as that! Please note, if your child is 11 + we would like to meet you before we accept the form from your child to ensure you know that your child is attending and wants to become a member. It also helps the staff team get to know you as a point of contact.
Quality In Play ~ Assessed at Level One
What does Quality in Play mean?
Quality in Play is a quality assurance scheme for out-of-school play and childcare provision. It is endorsed by Investors in Children (IiC), a national scheme developed by the government to endorse quality assurance schemes which meet rigorous criteria. Quality in Play was developed by playwork practitioners and is based on established playwork values. It builds on the national standards to enable providers to demonstrate good practice by developing a portfolio of evidence for independent assessment.
Ofsted is the inspectorate for children and learners in England. It is their job to contribute to the provision of better education and care through effective inspection and regulation.
This is achieved this through a comprehensive system of inspections and regulation which covers organisations such as Hornimans.
By joining the voluntary part of the register, you show parents who use your services that you:
• Meet certain requirements relating to people, premises and provision designed to safeguard children
• Are monitored through inspections Ofsted carry out on a random basis or when parents tell us they have concerns about the care
Please feel free to approach the staff team if you have a concern or a complaint, we will do as much as we can to ensure your concerns are dealt with quickly and professionally. If you want to complain or have concerns about anything to do with Hornimans, please read our complaints procedure.
